When selecting a heat pump, you have the choice of selecting a few types of heat pump. High wall, floor and ducted/ceiling heat pumps all have their benefits depending on the installation and what you need from it.
High wall heat pumps are the most common and also tend to be the cheapest. They are also the simplest to install and do not take up floor space, giving you more room for furniture and general space. They also have a range of functions such as timers, purifying air filters and directional louvers.
Floor console heat pumps tend to be more expensive than high wall units. They operate in a very similar manner as the high wall units, generally sharing the same options and functions. Floor console units are perfect for homes that cannot accommodate a high wall, such as homes with tall windows. They are also perfect for replacing fixed gas heaters and night stove heaters, eliminating the need to plaster and paint the wall behind the old heater.
Ducted heat pumps, also known as “central heating” or “ducted air con” are a good option for multiple rooms. The unit is installed above the ceiling or below the floor, and several outlets are installed to several rooms in the house. Temperature, modes and timers can be set with a controller.
